Drivers want more safety technology on the road
\It's no secret that in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems are becoming more and more common, and a recent worldwide survey by Accenture set out to determine the exact areas
in which drivers want to see more technology. The overarching theme was safety, with 91 percent of respondents claiming that blind-spot and lane-changing safety features are the most sought-after technology currently on the market. The majority of drivers (83 percent) also reported the desire for vehicles that could automatically call for help in the event of a breakdown.
Until cars can call for help themselves, drivers will have to handle things on their own. However, just because they have to place the calls themselves doesn't mean they also need to pay high towing fees. Extended warranty providers also often include roadside assistance when service contract owners experience breakdowns or accidents. The car warranty will then cover the cost of repairs to get their vehicles back on the road. If the work is going to take a day or more, some companies even offer complimentary loaner cars.
No doubt, safety and other IVI technology will continue to improve. Yet even if safety technology can someday prevent all accidents, there's still a chance that components of the vehicle can break down. This is mostly unavoidable, but an auto warranty can cover the cost to help keep drivers safe on the road.
